Born in Chicago, Chris came to Lincoln with her family when she was
a sophomore in high school. The family moved here when her father
Everett Johnson, an attorney, was transferred to the central
Illinois area. Her mother, Lorraine Bayer is a resident of Lincoln.
Chris has held positions in the area for many
years, including legal assistant positions with Muck & Muck, Gehlbach Law Office and Culbertson & Allen; office manager of
Johnson Brothers Liquors; and human resources secretary at Eaton
Corp. She has also been an active volunteer in the community for
over 40 years.
Chris began working with the development partnership in February
in a limited role of ten hours per week. With the departure of
executive director, Joel Smiley this spring, Chris had her hours
expanded to maintain a presence in the office while a search
committee sought a new executive director.
Over the past 10 months Chris has applied her knowledge of Logan
County with her experience and ability in moving projects forward to
assist the partnership in becoming more responsive and efficient in
meeting the needs of Lincoln and Logan County.
"I very much like this job and the people here" said Chris. "I
like the idea of doing something that is helpful to Lincoln and
Logan County."
