A
"rail" mess.
Friday morning traffic will be
diverted off Fifth Street Road at the railroad crossing so
repair work
may be done. Union Pacific notified Street Superintendent Tracy
Jackson on Tuesday that they plan to do some repair work, which
will hopefully make for a smoother ride for commuters traveling
that street. On Friday all traffic coming from or headed to the
west side of the tracks will be diverted, using Connolley Road
and Woodlawn Road. The plan is to close the crossing at 8 a.m.
and reopen it at 4 p.m. The story about the efforts to get this
crossing repaired is in today's edition.
