News & Information

Our goal is to provide as much information to our farmers, ranchers, landowners, agribusinesses, non-farm orientated citizens, students, and future email subscribers in the quickest, cheapest, and most efficient way.  Issuing press releases and regular newsletters fulfill our minimal requirements in publicizing information, but as we have learned over the years, it's not enough. The Logan County E-News will be published periodically and used solely to compliment the other avenues of our information dissemination needs.  Subscription is free and the advice is still cheap.  We do not discriminate.  If you know someone that wants to subscribe, share this E-News with them.  If you know someone is not getting their E-News, they should contact our office or check with their Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Email provider and flag the Logan County E-News as "non-spam" or "acceptable".  Every time we issue E-News publications, we receive several returned messages due to the security filters your ISP uses.

Logan County Represented at Commodity Classic

Three Illinois farmer leaders will attend Commodity Classic, March 3-5 in Tampa, Florida, to serve as key advocates for Illinois soybean farmers. Illinois Soybean Association Chairman Ron Moore, ISA District Seven Director Mike Cunningham and ISA At-large Director Ron Kindred (of Atlanta, IL), plan to take part in policy discussions during an American Soybean Association (ASA) meeting on the last day of that event.  Those discussions will formulate policy direction for ASA for the following 12 months, as it pursues initiatives to improve opportunities and profitability for U.S. soybean farmers.

All three individuals from Illinois are directly involved with the ASA.  Ron Kindred serves as a vice president on the nine-member ASA Executive Committee and also is part of that organization’s Public Affairs Committee.  “I feel privileged to represent the interests of Illinois soybean farmers on a national level,” he said.  Moore and Cunningham serve on the ASA Trade Policy & International Affairs Committee.

Commodity Classic is the premier convention and trade show of the ASA, National Corn Growers Association, National Sorghum Producers and National Association of Wheat Growers.  The event will feature valuable educational sessions, technology demonstrations, association banquets and important networking opportunities. More information about the event can be found at www.commodityclassic.com
