At
the home basketball game Friday, Feb. 11, the Lincoln Community High
School pompom squad will perform a fun, summer-themed routine and
will go into the crowd to collect donations and pass out information
about the Lincoln Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics. Special
Olympics will also have a Polar Plunge registration table set up
outside the gym, by the cafeteria, where interested individuals can
sign up for the Polar Plunge. Join "Freezin for a Reason." |
Lincoln
Christian University's Hargrove School of Adult & Graduate
Studies is gearing up for the spring semester. Mark your calendars
for 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 21. All returning, new and prospective
students are encouraged to attend LCU's Adult & Graduate Studies
Spring Orientation, held on campus in Restoration Hall, Room R49.
The evening will include a light meal
along with time to fellowship, register, visit financial aid staff, fill out
paperwork and gain useful information. This is also the first night of class,
Introduction to Adult Studies, and ends with a short program that provides
information on the importance of a support network, expectations and helpful
tips that will be pertinent throughout the semester.
Professors will also be available to answer questions and review the class
syllabus. Please bring all paperwork, whether or not completed. For more

The Lincoln Youth Wrestling results from the Monticello
tournament are:

6 and under: Second place to
Chase Reed and third place to Dustin Meachum and Isaiah Yoakum.

7- and 8-year-olds: First
place to Austin O'Donoghue and Alex Bogdanic, second place to Roux Starr,
third place to J.R. Lynn and Kalen Sanchez, and fourth place to Tony
Gandolfi, Terrance Hyde and Collin Cogdill.

9- and 10-year-olds: Third
place to Taylon Mason.

11- and 12-year-olds: Third place to Austin
Dennison.
The Lincoln team will travel to Chatham on Sunday, Feb. 13.
The
Humane Society of Logan County will host its fourth annual
pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 12, at Friendship
Manor, 925 Primm Road, from 7 a.m. until noon. The event will
benefit the organization's programs. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3
for children 4-10, and children under 3 eat free. Breakfast includes
pancakes, sausage, fruit and beverage. Join the gathering for a
perfect start to a memorable Valentine's Day weekend that will help
the abused, neglected and abandoned animals of Logan County.

author Anne Eldridge will sign copies of her latest novel,
"Alice & Henry," at the Owl's Roost, 427 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, on
Saturday, Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Books are available at the
store in advance and the day of the event.
