Anne Sheets, Class of 1995, was presented her award by former
women's basketball coach Nancy Siddens. Sheets was recognized for
her achievements in both basketball and volleyball.
Her basketball
achievements from 1991 to 1994 included being named as an NCCAA
all-American, a member of the NCCAA all-Mid-West Region team and
five all-tournament teams. She was a starter all four years and the
captain in her senior year. She scored 907 points, had 595 rebounds,
shot 50 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free-throw
line. She also recorded 162 assists and 119 steals during her
career. On the volleyball team from 1991 to 1993 she played in 284
games and had 2,056 assists, 198 kills, 132 blocks and 247 service
aces. She was named to the NCCAA all-Mid-West Region team in
volleyball.
Kevin McCaster played his first two years of college basketball
at Lincoln College and then transferred to Lincoln Christian
University, where he played from 1983 to 1985. He was presented his
award by former coach and athletic director Lynn Laughlin. His coach
from Lincoln College, Al Pickering, was also present to honor
McCaster.
McCaster played 51 games for LCU, scored 818 points, gathered in
571 rebounds and shot 54 percent from the field during his career.
He was an NCCAA all-American, named to the NCCAA all-region team and
was on three all-tournament teams.
