On Tuesday, Jan. 25, there will be a special evening of fellowship and
outreach for Lincoln Christian Church. Lincoln Christian has rented the
Laughlin Center at Lincoln Christian University so everyone can be together in
one place on one evening. They have also catered in the meal so no one has to
worry about preparing food that night. Dinner will begin at 6.
This will be one of those events people will talk about for a long time. The
night consists of the catered dinner, fellowship with friends and family,
laughter, and comedy by one of Illinois most popular comedians, Rex Havens.
Havens takes the heart of the world around each of us, applies his own gentle
combination of logic, bemusement and insanity, and offers it back to his
audience in a way that is engaging, thoughtful and hilarious. A former college
professor who made the unusual transition to the standup comedy stage, Rex has
always believed that laughter is the best defense against a confusing and
challenging world.
The cost is only $10 a person, $8 for children under 10 years of age. Lincoln
Christian Church will soon announce a way to purchase an entire table for your
list of guests and friends.
You can purchase your tickets at any of the morning worship services or at
the church office during the week. The church is giving its families the first
opportunity for the tickets, before they are available to the community.

Helping You Build A Family of Faith
Passing along a heritage of Christian faith to your family
is a parent's highest calling. Heritage Builders' goal is to
encourage and empower you in this great mission
with practical resources and inspiring ideas that really
work and help your children develop a lasting love for God.
We exist to equip, train and motivate parents to
become intentional about building a strong spiritual
heritage.
Heritage Builders was founded in 1995 by six parents with a
passion for helping others be intentional about passing on a
Godly heritage to their children. From 1996-2006, Focus on
the Family developed the ministry expanding its resources
and presence. Our resources have been featured and offered
by Family Life, Promise Keepers, and the Billy Graham
Evangelical Association. In 2007, Heritage Builders was spun
off to focus on its primary calling of training and
equipping parents to pass the faith to the next generation.
The ministry not only works with parents but also with and
through churches to educate, equip and encourage parents in
the spiritual formation process at home. By providing
tools that help equip and train parents, Heritage Builders
is a successful ministry that reaches around the world.
