[January 14, 2011]  The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership facilitated the Logan County Manufacturers' Council meeting on Friday morning. Eight of the largest manufacturers in Logan County participated in the meeting, hosted by Robert's Sysco Foods. Twenty business leaders attended.

Sen. Larry Bomke shared his thoughts on the upcoming session, including consideration of the budget deficit, workers' comp, Medicaid and the pension funding issue. Bomke then took several questions from the manufacturers, who expressed their concerns regarding these key issues affecting the business community.

A manufacturers' council enables manufacturers to network, and as a result they can form new joint projects, thus creating more jobs in Logan County. The Logan County Manufacturers' Council will meet two to four times per year with new guest speakers. The next meeting will be in April.

The Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership is the economic development agency for the city of Lincoln and Logan County.
