On Tuesday, Jan. 25, there
will be a special evening of fellowship and outreach for
Lincoln Christian Church. Lincoln Christian has rented
the Laughlin Center at Lincoln Christian University so
everyone can be together in one place on one evening. They
have also catered in the meal so no one has to worry about
preparing food that night. Dinner will begin at 6.
This will be one of those
events people will talk about for a long time. The night
consists of the catered dinner, fellowship with friends and
family, laughter, and comedy by one of Illinois most popular
					comedians, Rex Havens.
					Havens takes the heart of
the world around each of us, applies his own gentle
combination of logic, bemusement and insanity, and offers it
back to his audience in a way that is engaging, thoughtful
and hilarious. A former college professor who made the
unusual transition to the standup comedy stage, Rex has
always believed that laughter is the best defense against a
					confusing and challenging world.
The cost is only $10 a
person, $8 for children under 10 years of age. Lincoln
Christian Church will soon announce a way to purchase an
entire table for your list of guests and friends.

					You can purchase your
tickets at any of the morning worship services or at the
church office during the week. The church is giving its
families the first opportunity for the tickets, before they
					are available to the community.

					Created to Worship
					Bill Lewis
What do we mean when we use the word “worship”?
Why do we do what we do on Sunday morning?
Is it rooted in the Bible and reinforced by history?

Navigating Route 66 in a GPS World (How to Read the
					Bible)
					Dustin Fulton
While we all agree that we should read the Bible, it is
					often very
difficult to understand. Let's face it: the newest parts of
					the Bible
were written nearly 2,000 years ago and in a completely
					different
language. If we are going to be able to read it, we need
					some simple
tools to help us. This class will use readings from the
					Route 66 Bible
Reading Guide to help ordinary people learn how to read,
					understand,
					and apply the Bible.

					The Truth Project
					Brent & Amie Kenney/Bob & Patsy Wilson
Focus on the Family's, The Truth Project, is a DVD-based
					small group
study that practically and personally introduces people to
					the truth
claims of God. This is an In-Depth Christian Worldview
					experience that
					can be life transforming.

Bethel Class (Overview of the Bible—Unit A)

					Tim & Theresa McGee
This is the beginning of a new class to help us lean more
					about how

					Sunday Morning Bethel Class
Begins January 16 at 10:45 am
					Elaine Woolard

Either of these classes will be for anyone who has not yet
					begun a Bethel
class, and the cost will be $20 for the
first 7-week session, and $10 per 7-week session thereafter.
					It will
take six 7-week sessions to conclude the class, thus costing
					only $70
total (to be paid at the onset of each session--not all at
					once).

Call the church office (732-9294) to let us know if you
					prefer Sunday
morning or Wednesday evening. We'll be happy to get you into
					a class.
