Every year, Culver's hosts fundraiser days for
local schools. Teachers, friends and families come in for lunch and
dinner, trying to increase sales for their school. At the end of the
night, the sales brought in from the school are tallied up and the
class that brought in the most money wins a custard party delivered
by a Culver's employee. For the past school year, Culver's has
donated over $3,200 to local schools, which is determined by the
percentage of sales on the set fundraiser days. Carroll was awarded
with $758 during the school year and has received another check of
the same amount for being the winning school.
"The schools tried many new things this past year, from having
the band play in our dining room to having students read poems out
loud," said Elaine Aue, owner of Culver's. Students even got a
surprise visit from Scoopie on the May fundraiser day, reminding
them it was Culver's night.
The fundraising for the 2011-2012 school year will start in
September. Many schools have kept the same day for their event.
Culver's of Lincoln thanks the community for coming in and
supporting the schools and hopes to see you this coming school year.
