Vogue's Grace Coddington telling her story

[July 29, 2011]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Grace Coddington's story from the front row of fashion will be told in a memoir.

HardwareThe book by Vogue's creative director with be written with Vanity Fair style editor-at-large Michael Roberts, a friend and colleague.

The as-yet-untitled book will be published in the U.S. and Canada by Random House, and in the United Kingdom by Chatto and Windus, Random House announced Thursday.

In "The September Issue," the 2009 behind-the-scenes documentary about Vogue, Coddington was seen as both the right hand of editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and as the free spirit who would sometimes challenge Wintour.

The book will also cover Coddington's life as a child in England during World War II and her role in London's swinging `60s style scene, as well as her insight into the insider world of fashion.
