MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS 

Woodstock Percussion Inc. is recalling Gripper Shaker musical instruments sold nationwide and in Canada from August 2010 to March 2011. The handle can detach from the shaker, exposing a rough edge and posing a laceration hazard. The detached handle also exposes small steel pellets and a plastic plug which pose choking hazards. 

The shakers are plastic musical instruments, 5.5 inches long, with rounded, egg-shaped tops containing steel pellets and open circular handles. They come in blue and green and are sold separately. The marking "B4" is printed on the rounded top of each shaker.

BABY HATS           

Kahn Enterprises LLC is recalling Beeni Baby Hats sold nationwide from January 2009 to May 2011. A baby can spit up during use, posing an asphyxiation hazard. 

The recalled baby hats have two straps sewn to the sides and a removable plastic pacifier holder. The hat is available in sizes small, medium and large, and in pink, blue, green, flower print, blue stripe and blue print. Model number 125867 is on a tag sewn into the back inner rim of the cap.

SEWING MACHINES 

Janome America Inc. is recalling Elna Sewing Machines sold nationwide from September 2010 to April 2011. The wires inside the sewing machine can short circuit, posing a risk of fire. 

This recall involves the Elna eXcellence 740 sewing machine. The machine is white and navy with a digital touch panel. "Elna" and "eXcellence 740" are printed on the front of the machine. 

Consumers should return the item to the store where it was purchased for a free repair.

BICYCLE HELMETS 

Bell Sports is recalling full-face bicycle helmets sold nationwide and in Canada from August 2009 to March 2011. The plastic buckle that connects the chin straps can fail, causing the helmet to come off the wearer's head. This poses a head injury hazard to riders in the event of a fall. 

This recall involves Bell Exodus full-face helmets with a plastic buckle on the chinstrap and model and part numbers listed at www.recalls.org. The helmets have an angled visor and were sold in youth size. The model and part number can be found on a removable sticker located on the side of the helmet.

MODEL HELICOPTERS 

Horizon Hobby is recalling Blade mCP X Bind-N Fly and Ready to Fly Remote Control Model Helicopters and replacement Blade mCP X Main Blade Grips with Bearings sold nationwide and in Canada during March 2011. The main blade grips and main rotor blades can release from the main rotor head, posing an impact and laceration hazard. 

Blade ultra-micro indoor/outdoor helicopters have red and blue canopies with the name "Blade mCP X" printed on both sides. The model numbers are printed on the underside of the products' boxes with the bar code and can be found at www.recalls.org

Consumers should contact Horizon Hobby at (877) 504-0233 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT on Saturdays, and between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays, or visit www.bladehelis.com/MCPX for free replacement of main rotor grips and do-it-yourself instructions. NOTEBOOK BATTERIES 

Hewlett-Packard Company is recalling Lithium-ion batteries used in HP and Compaq notebook computers sold nationwide from July 2007 to July 2008. The recalled lithium-ion batteries can overheat and rupture, posing fire and burn hazards. 

The recalled lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are used with various model series of HP and Compaq notebook computers and listed at www.recalls.org

Consumers should contact HP at (888) 202-4320 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or visit www.hp.com/support/BatteryReplacement to determine if their battery is included in this recall. More info at www.recalls.org.
