Saturday's Princess Tea was a fundraiser for the Lincoln Christian Church's annual Harvest of Talents for World Hunger.

Table decorations were not the only special effects used.

Chair covers in matching or complementary colors added an extra element, and some designers went an extra step to express their theme.

Auction items that will be available at the Harvest event in October were on display. A dollhouse and a doll with handmade clothes, including a Railer sweatshirt, are just two of the many auction items.

Julie King, chairwoman of the Princess Tea, decorated the table she hosted with woodland creatures -- sparkly frogs, a dragonfly, shiny leaves and vines, and a friendly rabbit.

The Princess Tea is a good reason for the ladies of a family to enjoy time together. Members of three families sat at this table. Right side: Dawn and Emma Peterson, Judy Kukuck, Vera Ramlow, and Donna Twist. Foreground: Judy Piersma, Kristin and Emma Myatt. Left, back: Erica and Sydney Garrison.

Each girl received a mirror so she could look into the glass and find her "sparkle." Each mirror came with decorations so the girls could personalize them. Ella Singleton attached several flowers to her mirror. She and her mother, Jenny, were looking forward to dressing up for this year's event.

Sheralyn Bolton performed a skit, "The Very Fairy Princess," as the entertainment at the Princess Tea. Her daughter, Sadie, was the narrator. Sheralyn told girls (and ladies) in the audience they could be a fairy princess. She reminded them, "All you have to do is let your sparkle out!"

Julie King, Princess Tea chairwoman, led the event organizers and hosted a table at the event. To demonstrate her belief in the theme "Find Your Sparkle," she wore her sparkle.
