After the introduction of teams Friday night at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walk at Lincoln College, two special ladies were introduced. Sisters Esther Boward and Mary Hildebrandt are the team captains of the team Faith, Hope, and Love. Both women have been dedicated to the Relay for Life effort for several years, and both have suffered losses or struggles due to cancer.

After the teams will come the Survivors Lap.

The teams lined the "track" and applauded all the survivors.

According to Toni Reifsteck, who worked with organizing this year's events, there were three times more survivors in this lap than last year.

Perhaps next year there will be even more, and maybe one day everyone will be a survivor.
