Center is offering opportunities to donate blood in Lincoln. |

 Erich Maxheimer of Chestnut has accepted membership in National Society
of Collegiate Scholars. Erich will be honored during an induction convocation
this fall on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
"NSCS is more than just a symbol of academic achievement. Membership gives
students access to a number of amazing benefits, including career and networking
resources, scholarships, travel and service projects, both on campus and in the
community," says Stephen E. Loflin, NSCS CEO and founder.
NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the
nation's only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year
college students. Membership is by invitation only, based on grade-point average
and class standing. NSCS has more than 750,000 lifetime members and 270 chapters
in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Erich is the son of Mike and Suzie Maxheimer of Chestnut and the grandson of
Earl and Dolores Maxheimer of Mount Pulaski, Charles and June Huffer of Lincoln,
and Pete and Della Eeten of Pekin.

A scrapbook fundraiser for Kids Club of the
First United Methodist Church will be on Saturday, June 25, from noon to
midnight. Use the back door. For $30 per person, a meal, snacks, drinks and
prizes are covered. All proceeds benefit Kids Club.
The
Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival is in need of several
hardworking individuals to fill coordinator positions. Being a
coordinator at the festival is a great way to be on the inside of
the largest event in Logan County annually. Taking pride in your
very rewarding work to help host this event for thousands of guests
is the perfect way to spend a weekend in August. Here is a list of
the positions currently open:
