[March 04, 2011]  SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon police say a man they're calling the Droopy Drawers Bandit made off with beer and cigarettes in a convenience store burglary, but nearly lost his pants in the process.

At one point in the theft early Thursday morning in Salem, the man's pants nearly fell down and revealed bright red shorts, the store surveillance video shows.

Lt. Steve Birr says the bandit apparently cut himself breaking in since considerable blood was found.

Police responding to a burglary alarm found that a car door had apparently been used to smash a hole in the store's glass front door. The bandit was gone.
