"We are thrilled that our board members are able to take time to
visit our Head Start classrooms," said Ashley Doyle, community
relations director. "Not only do they get to experience our
classrooms firsthand, but the students really enjoy spending time
with them." Community Action Head Start is a federally funded
preschool program that serves income-eligible families as well as
children ages 3-5 who have disabilities. Head Start is designed to
provide a variety of opportunities that help a child develop
socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally in an
age-appropriate manner.
Community Action Head Start provides center-based preschool
services in Logan County. The program includes a nutritionally
balanced meal program, medical and dental examinations, as well as
screenings for hearing, vision and speech. In addition to the
services received by the child, the staff assists parents in their
efforts to improve the quality of life for themselves and their
children.
Community Action is a private, nonprofit organization that serves
low-income families and seniors in a six-county area with a variety
of services. For more information, visit
