[May 10, 2011]  VINCENNES, Ind. -- The Lincoln College men's and women's track and field teams brought home Region 24 titles over the weekend. The meet was hosted by Vincennes University.

Winning regional titles for the men were the 4x100 of Eric Reeves, Just Smith, Brandon Boyce and Leakpea Kordah; Jose Padillia in the 5,000 and 10,000; Justin Smith in the long jump; Blake Clowers in javelin; and Greg Semansin in the hammer, disk and shot.

On the women's side, regional champions were Samantha Horton in the 100 and 200; Keara Allen-Wilson in the 800; Tedgie Hamilton in the 100 hurdles, triple jump and high jump; the 4x100 of Britaine Teague, Amber Teplitz-Crawford, Detrius Brown and Samantha Horton; the 4x800 of Keara Allen-Wilson, Samantha Schnieder and Emily Thomson; Mackenzie Sublon in the long jump, javelin and heptathlon; Kristi Naylon in disk; and Phelicia Lewis in the shot.

Coach Herron said: "I thought our kids did a very nice job over the weekend. The weather conditions were tough again, but they kept focused and fought through. There were multiple athletes that stepped up, and that is the main reason why we brought home both trophies this year.

"We have to remain focused and fine-tune some things for the national meet in two weeks, but I think our kids are more than ready for that challenge."

The national meet will be May 19-21 in Hutchison, Kan. Lincoln will be represented by 20 athletes at the meet.
