[May 21, 2011]  LANGLEY, Va. (AP) -- President Barack Obama has visited CIA headquarters to congratulate the country's intelligence workers for the years of effort that led to the discovery and killing of terrorist Osama bin Laden.

Obama also thanked them for their daily work in protecting the United States, telling workers assembled to meet him that he'd never felt prouder or more confident about them.

He told them that they're proof that when Americans put their mind to something, "there is nothing we cannot do."

Obama's visit Friday to Langley, Va., came after he'd already met the helicopter pilots and Navy SEAL team involved in the raid on bin Laden's Pakistan hideaway earlier this month.

The president's spokesman said it was Obama's idea to visit Langley because he wanted to personally thank workers there.
