City Police Officer Chris
Reed recently attended an Illinois State Police Crime Scene
Investigation course and is now Lincoln’s official CSI. The
course is designed to establish competency in the discipline
of crime scene processing and emphasizes the importance of
thoroughness, accuracy and integrity while processing crime
scenes. Police Chief Ken Greenslate said that Reed’s
training will be a great asset to the Lincoln Police
Department. Greenslate and Deputy Chief Mike Geriets

Miss
Illinois, Whitney Thorpe-Klinsky, a 23-year-old
Illinois Wesleyan University graduate from New
Baden, was a guest speaker at Mount Pulaski High
School Monday morning. Her topic was “The dangers
of distracted driving.” She was the invited
guest of Mount Pulaski State Farm Insurance
agent Deron Powell. Miss Thorpe-Klinsky engaged the students
by asking them questions about their views of
distracted driving. Her theme was that we
all can make the right choices and that a car
accident is just that
-- an
“accident” that could in most situations be
avoided.
