Keenan Leesman named ALMH May Employee of the Month

[May 27, 2011]  Keenan Leesman was awarded Employee of the Month for May at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital for going above and beyond the call of duty during the construction and transition to the new hospital.

Insurance"Keenan has been dedicated, professional and personable throughout the move process, all the while executing his day-to-day functions," wrote his anonymous nominator. "He is extremely knowledgeable and assists whenever asked or needed. ALMH is extremely fortunate to have Keenan; he makes ALMH a great place to work."

Keenan has worked at ALMH since an internship in the summer of 2003. He began full time in information services shortly afterward and has worked there since.

Besides a bachelor’s degree in community health from Northern Illinois University, Keenan also has a certificate in data communication and networking from Kishwaukee College. A position in information services requires a bachelor’s degree or related experience.

Keenan’s day-to-day responsibilities vary and include configuring and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks, phones, printers, computers, video surveillance, software applications, biomedical devices and television infrastructure. He also may provide server and Citrix administration and give input in meetings.

"I get to be involved in a wide variety of projects, which makes my work more fulfilling," Keenan said. "I enjoy working with the staff at ALMH. They provide the key to a great work environment."

His advice for someone interested in information services: Choose a field of technology and an industry that is interesting. "Never stop learning, because technology is in a constant state of change."
