While they waited for Santa, several joined in the singing of
Christmas carols, led by Roger Matson, who is the Main Street Lincoln
board president and manager of National Rent to Own. When Santa
arrived, he was asked to do the honors and flip the switch that would
light the tree and the lovely lights adorning his new little cottage where he will spend time this holiday season visiting with all the
children in the community.
After the lighting, there were more carols to be sung. Then
several of those who came stayed on the square to do a little
shopping or just walk about town, viewing the beautifully
decorated store windows.
Matson also issued a list of thank-yous to all who helped
prepare for the evening, and Mayor Keith Snyder spoke briefly,
thanking all who came out and encouraging them to support the
downtown businesses this holiday season.
