The United Way of Logan County had their first Tailgating for our Community event Saturday at the Lincoln Banquet Center. One hundred fifty members of the community came out to support United Way and to have an evening of fun.

During the evening the United Way board gave out two special checks to approved agencies. One was for $2,500 to Christian Child Care. The other was to the Lincoln/Logan County Food Pantry for $3,500.

With a highly successful silent auction and ticket sales for the IGA grocery giveaway, United Way board members are excited about working on next year's event to make it even bigger and better.

The United Way of Logan County has a volunteer board that, thanks to the generosity of area businesses and individuals, has pledged almost $100,000 to 13 Logan County organizations for the 2012 year.
