Zion Lutheran Church is sponsoring "Light the Night
with Jesus" for Halloween, October 31st from 5-8p.m. Children
of the community are invited to "trick or treat" in the
parking lot behind the church near the little log cabin
chapel across from Stuffed Aria Pizza at the intersection of
5th, Clinton, and Logan Streets. Church members are
planning on handing out treats and glow-in-the-dark
necklaces. There will be lighted pumpkins decorating the
little log cabin chapel and plenty of safe area for parking,
if parents are driving, and walking around viewing the
pumpkins and receiving treats and necklaces. Zion Lutheran
Church invites you to stop by during "trick or treat" hours,
Monday, October 31st.

Carroll Catholic School announces October Students of
the Month.
Each month, the
teachers select two students from first to fourth grades and
two students from fifth to eighth grades to receive Student
of the Month awards. Students are chosen based upon
Christian attitude, cooperativeness, courteousness,
self-discipline and effort. October Students of the Month
are Rachel Morrow, first grade; Dylan Singleton, third
grade; MacKenzie Merreighn, fifth grade; and Jaden
Pellinghelli-Drake, sixth grade.
First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway
hosts a community communion service each Tuesday at 12:15
pm. It lasts approximately 10 minutes and everyone in
the community are invited to participate.
San Jose United
Methodist Church, 600 S. First St. (First and Linden) is
having their annual turkey supper and bazaar from 4 to 7
p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Menu includes roast turkey,
dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and green beans,
salad, homemade desserts, and beverages. For dining in the
fellowship hall, prices are $9 for adults, $4 for children 4
to 12 years, and children 3 and under eat free. Carryout
prices are $9.50 for adults and $4.50 for children. Tickets
will be available at the door or may be purchased from
church members.
Bazaar booths are the Candy
Shop, featuring delicious homemade candies, including
caramels, fudge and divinity; Country Store; Christmas and
all-occasion cards; Going Green shop, with nearly new items;
and Crafts, featuring hand-crafted wooden outdoor-indoor
planters, plus Christmas ornaments, hot pads, bookmarks and
various other crafts.
Proceeds will benefit missions
supported by the United Methodist Women.
