Upon the arrival of the fire department, all occupants were out of
the single-story house. Firefighters entered the structure and
extinguished the fire. The fire damaged a room and also caused heavy
smoke damage throughout the house. The damage to the house was
estimated at $20,000. Three of the four family members and the
family dog were home at the time of the fire. All occupants were
able to exit the home. No one was injured during the fire.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental. However, the fire
is still under investigation.
At 4:07 p.m. on Saturday, Lincoln firefighters responded to a
second structure fire, this one at 442 Ninth St. When the fire
department arrived, all occupants were out of the single-story
house. Firefighters entered the structure and extinguished the fire,
which damaged the kitchen and resulted in smoke damage throughout
the house. The damage was estimated at $2,000.
No family members were at home at the time of the fire and no one
was injured.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
For both fires, the lead investigator was Tim Aper, and the
officer in charge was Capt. Larry Spurling.
