By late afternoon in Asia, benchmark oil for October delivery was up 3 cents at $89.44 in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Crude gained 49 cents to settle at $89.40 on Thursday. In London, Brent crude for November delivery was up 79 cents at $113.09 on the ICE Futures exchange. The longer-term outlook for oil prices is still uncertain. The International Energy Agency on Tuesday cut its forecast for oil demand for this year and next, saying estimates for economic growth had slipped. In other Nymex trading for October contracts, heating oil rose 2 cents to $3.04 per gallon and gasoline futures gained 1.4 cents to $2.79 per gallon. Natural gas for October delivery fell 2 cents to $3.86 per 1,000 cubic feet.
