[September 19, 2011]  Sunday at 8:10 p.m., the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 904 21st Street, Lot 100. The fire was discovered by a family member who had just arrived home. While city firefighters were responding, they called for a quicker response from the Lincoln Rural department, which arrived at the scene first.

Both fire departments pulled a 1 3/4-inch hose line and quickly extinguished a small fire in the wall of a mobile home. The fire did minor damage to the structure. The cost of the damage is estimated to be $5,000.

A family of four lived in the home, along with their pets. Everyone was home at the time of the fire, along with one guest, and all of them were able to exit the house safely. No one was injured during the fire. The family will be displaced for a short time until repairs can be made to the home.

The exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but it appears to be related to the home's electrical system.
