Phillip Paul Baker, 90, of Lincoln, died Saturday, March 31, 2012,
at 1:15 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Lincoln-Phillip Paul Baker, age 90, of Lincoln, died
at 1:15 A.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Maple
Ridge Care Center, Lincoln, Il.
Paul was born on August 13, 1921 in Atlanta, Il., the son of
Emery and Pearl Fulk.
He was married to Opal Johnson on July 28, 1946 in Atlanta,
Il. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1997. He was
united in marriage to Lucille Whiteman on July 8, 2006.
They were divorced. Paul is survived by three sons: Terry
(Sharon) Baker of Lincoln, Il., Gary (Judy) Baker of
Sherman, Il., and Larry Baker of Lincoln, Il., two
daughters: Phyllis (Dennis) Welch and Barb Pinkley both of
Lincoln, Il., twelve grandchildren, fourteen and three step
great grandchildren. |
He was the last of his immediate
family. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Opal, one
son, Barry Wayne, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday
April 3, 2012 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln, Il. with Dustin Fulton
officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to
the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Zion
Cemetery, Lincoln with full military rites accorded
by American Legion Post #263, Lincoln,
Il. Memorials may be given to Jefferson St.
Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Paul was a member of Jefferson St. Christian Church in
Lincoln. He retired from Lincoln Container in Lincoln and
was a door greeter for a number of years at Walmart in
Lincoln, Il. Paul was a decorated W.W. II army veteran and
had received the purple heart. |
