George Andrew Cypher, 83, of Lincoln, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at
his home.

LINCOLN-George Andrew Cypher, 83, of Lincoln passed
away at his home on Monday, April 2, 2012.
George was a retired business manager at Lincoln
Developmental Center, Lincoln, IL. He was a member
of Lincoln Christian Church; Oasis- Logan County
Senior Citizens Center; and Quails Unlimited.
George was born on August 28, 1928 in Whittington,
IL the son of Jaspher Nicholas and Eunice Steavens
Cypher. He married Irma Kathryn Forsythe on March
30, 1962 in Lincoln, IL. She preceded him in death
October 19, 2000. He married Jean Mellott on April
4, 2001 in Lincoln. She survives in Lincoln.

George is also survived by one daughter: Diane
(James) Coop of Lincoln; one grandson: Andrew James Coop;
one step daughter: Dorothy Hupp of Lincoln; one step
granddaughter: CaitlIn Hupp; one step son: Robert Edward
(Mary Lee) Hupp, Jr. of Hawthorne, FL; one step grandson:
River Hupp and one step granddaughter: Samantha Hupp; one sister: Mary Barton of Benton, IL;
several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and
great-nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; first wife; three brothers and three
sisters.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5,
2012 at Lincoln Christian Church with Ron Otto officiating.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Havana, IL.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, and one hour
prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials
may be given to Lincoln Christian Church or the Oasis-Logan
County Senior Citizens Center.
