Saturday afternoon hundreds of people showed up at Lincoln Christian Church to deliver well-wishes in person to Dr. Steven Kottemann. He has retired from the medical profession after several months of controversy with Family Medical Center in Lincoln.

In his career in Logan County, he has treated thousands of patients, and many of them came to tell him he will be missed and loved always.

The line inside the Lincoln Christian Church Fellowship Hall began the moment guests stepped inside the door.

It wound its way throughout the hall.

Folks nearing the entrance to the small board room at the church stood in line for quite some time.

Beyond these doors Dr. Kottemann and his family stood greeting those who had waited so long to see him.

Guests were invited to participate in refreshments before making their way out of the room.

Among the items on this table is a framed letter from the city of Lincoln.  On Saturday morning during their budget meeting, aldermen took time out to sign the letter, written by Mayor Keith Snyder.

On the way out, two well-wishers stop to take a look at the Dr. Kottemann history board.
