James 'Buddy' Babbs

James "Buddy" Babbs, 73, of Lincoln, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at
10:17 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

LINCOLN-James "Buddy" Babbs, 73, of Lincoln passed
away at 10:17 p.m. on April 8, 2012 at Maple Ridge
Health Care Centre, Lincoln.
Buddy was born on January 12, 1939 in Wade Township,
Newton, IL the son of James and Agnes L. Huskins
Babbs.
Buddy is survived by three sons: Robert Fredrick
(Debbie) Babbs of Lincoln;
James A. Babbs of Bloomington, IL and Donald (Cindy)
Babbs of Hubert, N.C.; one daughter: Barbara Babbs
of Michigan; Six brothers and sisters: Robert
(Debbie) Eckert; Danny (Anna) Eckert; Joyce
(Marvin) Oltmanns; Nancy (Louis) Farkas; Mary (Matt)
Mason, all of Lincoln; Judy (Chuck) Barkley of
Virginia Beach, VA; nine grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his
father, Donald Eckert; one son, Darrin
L. Babbs; one granddaughter, Rachelle Babbs; and one great-nephew.
Buddy was retired in maintenance at Lincoln
Developmental Center, Lincoln and Caterpillar
Tractor Co., Peoria, IL. Mr. Babbs was a member of
Lincoln Christian Church. He was an avid Cardinal
fan.
Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at
10:30 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln with Ron Otto officiating. Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation
will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral
home.
