Brazil to start bid for Olympic gold vs. Egypt

[April 24, 2012]  WEMBLEY, England (AP) -- Brazil will start its bid for a first Olympic gold medal against Egypt.

Brazil will face the Egyptians at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on July 26, a day before the official opening of the London Games. The team also plays Belarus and New Zealand in Group C.

In Group D, World Cup champion Spain was drawn with Honduras, Japan and Morocco.

Britain will start against Senegal. The hosts will also play the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay in Group A.

Group B is Mexico, South Korea, Gabon and Switzerland.

In women's soccer, 2012 host Britain was drawn into Group E and will play New Zealand at Millennium Stadium on July 25.

Reigning Olympic champion United States was drawn with France, Colombia and North Korea in Group G.

The 2012 host team was drawn on Tuesday in Group E to face New Zealand as well as Cameroon and Brazil.

Reigning Olympic champion United States was drawn with France, Colombia and North Korea in Group G.

In Group F, World Cup champion Japan was drawn with Canada, Sweden and South Africa.
