SPRINGFIELD -- Dr. Christopher L.
Maurer, 35, of Springfield, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 6:50
p.m. at Memorial Medical Center.

Dr. Christopher L. Maurer, 35, of Springfield died
at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Memorial
Medical Center. He was born on December 10, 1976 in
Springfield to Dr. Joseph and Rosetta Marie Tega
Maurer. He married Trisha Youngquist on December 19,
2009 and she survives.
He is also survived by his father: Dr. Joseph
Maurer; mother and father-in-law: Jim and Jan
Youngquist of Lincoln; eight brothers and sisters:
Dr. Joanne (Dr. Mark Gekas) Maurer; Mary Rose (Tom)
Hoffman; Joseph J. (Cindy) Maurer, Jr.; Matthew J.
(Kristina) Maurer all of Springfield; Linda
Shoemaker of Riverton; Diane Howard; Dr. Susan
Maurer and Daniel (Rachael) Maurer all of
Springfield; nieces and nephews: Demi, Robert,
Nicole, Everett, Joey, Michael, Katie, Shad, Jenna,
Jessie, Normy, Jacob and Rosie; several great nieces
and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins and his
Labradors Oscar, Bella and Lola.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one
brother: John A. Maurer.
Christopher was a member of St. Agnes Church. He was
an avid Bears fan. He enjoyed playing guitar. He
loved keeping in touch with his friends and family
on a daily basis and prioritized their activities
into his life. He was a member of the Illinois State
Dental Society; American Dental Association; G.V.
Black Dental Society and National Arbor Day
Foundation.
He was a dentist, starting his own practice in
Springfield in 2012. He had previously worked as a
stockbroker for Morgan Stanley before returning to
school to become a dentist. He was a graduate of
Sacred Heart-Griffin High School; UIS and SIU School
of Dental Medicine.

4-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Staab Funeral
Home with prayers at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral Mass:
10 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Agnes
Church with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating.
Burial will be in Old Salem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart
Griffin High School.
