[April 25, 2012]  This summer 2250th Street in Eminence Township will be closed to replace a bridge. The bridge is located on 2250th Street, also known as Lazy Row, one mile south and four miles west of Atlanta.

The project will involve complete removal of the existing bridge. A new precast concrete deck beam bridge will be constructed, along with improvements to the roadway to match the elevation of the new bridge. The existing bridge was built in 1952 and has structural issues requiring it to have posted weight restrictions.

The project will take place during the summer months, but a date has not yet been set.

The roadway will be closed to traffic during the entire project, which is expected to take about two months to complete.

A construction bid amount of $140,535.70 was awarded to Midwest Bridge and Crane, of Good Hope. The state will pay 80 percent of the cost through a portion of the motor fuel tax. The remaining 20 percent will be split between Logan County and Eminence Township.

Additional information will be made available when a start date has been determined.
