County Highway 25 surfacing north of Atlanta

[April 25, 2012]  County Highway 25, located west and north of Atlanta, will be resurfaced. The project will involve micro-surfacing 4.2 miles of the roadway from Atlanta to U.S. 136. The project will take place during the summer months, but a date has not yet been set.

Microsurfacing consists of the application of latex modified asphalt, along with Portland cement and coarse aggregate. The result is a preventative maintenance treatment that should address the roughness and extend the life of the existing pavement. The roadway will have pavement striping done later this summer.

A construction bid amount of $153,607.52 was awarded to AC Pavement Striping of Elgin. This cost will be paid from Logan County's motor fuel rax fund.

Additional information will be made available when a start date has been determined.
