Mt. Pulaski: Janet Lee Downing Rubin, 75, of Mt. Pulaski died at 7:00 A.M. Monday April 23, 2012 at Vonderlieth Living Center. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 25, 2012 at The Mt. Pulaski Christian Church with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church or Vonderlieth Living Center.

Janet was born February 15, 1937 in Lincoln, IL , the daughter of Orville and Thelma Volle Downing. She graduated from Mt. Pulaski High School and attended nurse training in Springfield, IL. She worked at Christian Homes in Lincoln, IL, and was a nurse's aide at Vonderlieth Living Center for 17 years before she retired.

Janet enjoyed taking bus tour trips with her mother to many places throughout the United States.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and one son Jeffrey. Surviving are her brother Roy Dean (Marylyn) Downing of Mt. Pulaski, a nephew Troy Downing of Edmond, OK and a niece Tracy Pulliam of Mahomet, IL.
