[August 01, 2012]  CHICAGO (AP) -- A second day of testimony is set to start in the murder trial of a former suburban Chicago police sergeant.

Drew Peterson is charged with first-degree murder in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Prosecutors say they expect testimony Wednesday from a man who was at Savio's home when her body was found. The former neighbor, Thomas Pontarelli, also testified at an evidentiary hearing in 2010.

He said then it was widely known in the neighborhood that Peterson and Savio were going through a contentious divorce.

Pontarelli's wife, Mary Pontarelli, was the state's first and only witness Tuesday in the Joliet trial. She described screaming after seeing Savio's lifeless body in a bathtub.

Peterson was charged after his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007.
