Wednesday evening a rather
large fenced-off area in front of the grandstand at the Logan County Fair was the scene of the annual 4-H
scrambles.
The evening began with the national anthem
sung by Lesleigh Bennett, then a few welcoming comments for 2012
Logan County Fair Queen Dani Juilfs along with 2012 Little Miss Karson Mott. The first
event was the chicken scramble for children ages 5 and under.
In this particular event, the kids catch the chickens but then more
or less "exchange" them for a more age-appropriate gift.
When the chickens were let loose on the track,
they seemed to be quite content to just stand in one place, but when
a roaring stampede of 5-year-olds descended on them, it very soon
