HARTSBURG -- Kay Frances Proefrock, 61,
of Hartsburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at 1:52 p.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.

HARTSBURG-Kay Frances Proefrock, 61, of Hartsburg,
IL passed away at 1:52 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1,
2012 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Kay was born on December 11, 1950 in Lincoln, IL the
daughter of Earl T. F. and Frances Schultz Conrady.
She married John Proefrock November 20, 1982 at
Hartsburg, IL. He survives in Hartsburg.
Kay is also survived by two daughters: Monica
Proefrock of Jacksonville, IL; Ann Proefrock of
Hartsburg, IL; two step-daughters: Sarah (Jason)
Lorek of Romeoville, IL; Jessica (Brandon) Payne of
White House, TN; one brother: Rick (Mary) Conrady of
Hartsburg, IL; one nephew: Dirk Conrady of
Hartsburg; one niece: Brenda Tibbs of Lincoln, IL
and three grandchildren: Nicholas and Daniel Lorek,
and Ella Payne. Kay was preceded in death by her
parents and one brother: Bill Conrady.

Kay was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of
Hartsburg; Naomi-Ruth Circle and Church Council; and
Precinct Committeeperson for Orvil Township for over
20 years. She retired from Logan County Health
Department as a WIC clerk after 21 years.
Visitation for Kay will be Sunday, August 5, 2012
from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church,
Hartsburg. Services will be held on Monday, August
6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church,
Hartsburg. Burial will be in Hartsburg Union
Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. John's
Lutheran Church or Memorial Medical Foundation for
Palliative Care. Arrangements by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
