Logan County EMA water level update

[August 03, 2012]  The local drought condition has entered the severe stage in Logan County. Governmental leaders are urging citizens to apply good conservation habits when using our water supplies. This is the most recent compilation of comments from local mayors and water system representatives.

Information as of Aug. 2:

Atlanta (Mahomet Aquifer)
Restrictions: No watering grass. No car washes.
Water levels: Unknown

Beason/Chestnut (No aquifer)
Restrictions: None
Water Levels: Well holding fine.

Broadwell (No aquifer)
Restrictions: No bulk sales. Voluntary water reductions.
Water levels: Staying average

Burton View (No aquifer) Private wells

Cornland (No aquifer) Private wells

Elkhart (Mahomet Aquifer)
Restrictions: No bulk water sales.
Water levels: Unknown

Emden (Mahomet Aquifer)
Restrictions: None
Water levels: Staying average

Hartsburg (Mahomet Aquifer)
Restrictions: None
Water levels: Unchanged

Lake Fork (No aquifer) Private wells

Latham (No aquifer)
Restrictions: No lawn watering. No car washing.
No adding to or filling swimming pools.
Watering gardens limited to one hour in the evening on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only.
Customers are asked to voluntarily restrict water use.
