Sharon Molitoris, D.D.S., will join the
staff of the dental clinic at the Logan County Department of Public
Health on Sept. 4.
A native of Bourbonnais, Dr. Molitoris received her undergraduate
degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington and her
dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of
Dentistry. For the past three years, she has served in the National
Health Services Corps at the Indian Health Service clinic in Gallup,
N.M.

"We are pleased Dr. Molitoris has agreed to join our dental
clinic team, and I'm confident that her public health dental
experience will serve the citizens of Logan County well," said Mark
Hilliard, administrator of the health department.
The dental clinic at the health department serves children and
adults who are Medicaid-eligible or uninsured. For those who are
uninsured, fees are based on a sliding fee scale.
Access to dental services was established as a health priority in
the county during a community health needs assessment conducted in
2010, according to Hilliard.
Parents are reminded that Illinois law requires schoolchildren
entering kindergarten, second and sixth grades to have a dental
examination. Yearly dental exams are encouraged for all
schoolchildren.
