Another cold front will push through the
northern tier states, bringing strong thunderstorms with it. Thunderstorms are expected from Montana and Wyoming into Wisconsin, northern Minnesota and north-central Nebraska.
Behind the cold front, temperatures across Montana and North Dakota will plummet, with highs on Wednesday more than 20 degrees below normal in the coldest locations.
In the West, temperatures are expected to remain warm, with highs running a few degrees above normal for most locations. The Northwest will see some of the highest departures from normal.
The Southwest will continue to see scattered thunderstorms on Wednesday, and highs are expected to be close to normal.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday ranged from a morning low of 32 degrees at West Yellowstone, Mont., to a high of 109 degrees at Palm Springs, Calif.
