Saturday afternoon high wind conditions made some of the planned events at the Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival a little difficult to pull off, but not impossible.

On the square, there was supposed to be an inflation of a hot air balloon. That didn't happen. But balloonist Jim Phelan came up with the next best thing. With a brightly colored tarp-like piece of material, lots of children had the opportunity to play and imagine they were inside the orb of a hot air balloon.

Phelan also brought the basket for his balloon Good Greeph, sponsored by Hicksgas in Lincoln. He talked to folks about the basket and demonstrated how hot air is blown into the balloon.
