[August 30, 2012]  Lincoln College men's soccer team dropped their first region game in two years to Illinois Central 1-0 on Tuesday at Lincoln College.

The first half saw both teams get a good chance at goal with both keepers making saves. It mostly a midfield battle in the first half, with each team getting only a couple shots. Lincoln was to go down a man when Cedric Mavakala received his second yellow card in the first half. At halftime the score was 0-0.

Lincoln moved some people around and came out strong in the second half despite being a man down.

With 30 minutes left to play, Lincoln was called for a foul near the box. ICC played a ball across the goal mouth, the ball bounced around and was knocked in by ICC, making the score 1-0.

Despite being a man down, Lincoln continued to press and get good shots at goal. However, with 20 minutes left, Kyle Walton made a rash challenge at midfield, resulting in another red card. Down to nine men, Lincoln still was able to get five shots on goal and three corner kicks to ICC's one shot.

The whistle blew with ICC winning 1-0.
