Lincoln College volleyball results

[August 30, 2012]  OGLESBY -- On Wednesday, the Lincoln College volleyball team traveled to Oglesby for a match against Illinois Valley Community College. Lincoln (1-4) lost to IVCC in straight sets 25-18, 25-22, 25-15.

Lincoln College individual stats:

• Jenna Merkel: 5 kills, 7 points

• Morgan Leached: 8 kills

• Latasha Fizer: 5 kills, 2 blocks

• Vicky Arriola: 29 set assists

• Taylor Hewitt: 8 digs, 5 points

• Alyssa Morales: 7 digs, 5 points

Coach Mark Tippett commented: "For much of the match we looked like a team that is still figuring out how to play together. Our offense showed signs of being able to do great things, but we did not play well enough defensively to keep any momentum going, and our passing was inconsistent. I am confident in our team, and I believe we will play much better once we get a little more experience."
