Sylvia Klumpp is the Mount Pulaski Senior-of-the-Month

[November 27, 2012]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Sylvia Klumpp has been named Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School. She is the daughter of Matthew and Lynda Klumpp of Mount Pulaski.

Sylvia has been a straight-A student throughout high school. She is a two-year member of National Honor Society, serving as co-president. She is a four-year member of Spirit Squad and a three-year member of Drama Club and Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering. She played volleyball for two years and is a member of Spanish Club.

She served on the prom committee, was chosen for homecoming court and was elected class treasurer during her junior year.

She attended Girls State, where she was elected mayor for her city. This spring she plans to travel with other Mount Pulaski High School students to Washington, D.C., as part of the Close Up program.

In the community, Sylvia was inducted this month as a member of American Legion Auxiliary. She has also participated in National Honor Society service projects and is an office helper at the high school.

Sylvia plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College.

The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored jointly by Johnson's Food Center and Mount Pulaski Pharmacy. Monthly winners receive $50 toward education expenses and are eligible to compete for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award.
