The horror-master from Maine is the author of books such as "The Stand," "The Shining" and "The Green Mile."
King gave a special class for creative writing majors at the university Friday. Later, King and fellow bestselling author Andre Dubus III shared the stage for a conversation about their craft.
King told the crowd of about 125 students that he's a "confrontational writer." He says he wants to "get within kissing distance, hugging distance, choking distance, punching distance. Call it whatever you want. But I want your attention."
He has two new books coming out in 2013, including a sequel to "The Shining" called "Doctor Sleep."
