[December 12, 2012]  LONDON (AP) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron says British agents played a key role in the 1989 killing of a Belfast lawyer, one of the most bitterly disputed killings of the entire Northern Ireland conflict.

Cameron cited a long-awaited report on the slaying Wednesday that found that employees of the state and state agents played "key roles" in the murder. Cameron says, "It cannot be argued that these were rogue agents."

Cameron declined to order an inquiry, however, saying the report was extensive.
