Carl 'Fred' Langley

ATLANTA -- Carl F. "Fred" Langley, 80,
of rural Atlanta, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.

Atlanta- Carl "Fred" Langley went to be with the
Lord on December 7, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield, IL.
He was born March 25, 1932, in Lincoln, the son of
Everett and Myrtle (Eskridge) Langley.
He married Sarah Carlin of Atlanta. She preceded him
in death. On July 5, 1974. He married Jeanette Lee
in Decatur, IL. She survives.
Fred served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked for Lincoln Transfer and Barrick Transfer
as a mechanic for many years.
Fred was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman.
Later in life Fred became a NASCAR fan.
Fred is survived by four sons: Fredrick "Freddie"
William of Lincoln, Rodney "Dean" (Diann) of
Atlanta, Ronald Wayne (Patricia) of Robinson,
Timothy Allen (Candy) of Lincoln; one daughter:
Debra Marie Fulk of Lincoln. Fred also raised two
stepchildren, Michael Dean Kirk of
Lincoln and Judy (Dennis) Anderson of Lincoln.
Fred is also survived by five brothers, Marvin
(Wanda), Patrick (Hella), Danny (Ginni), all of
Robinson, Il., Harold (Wanda) of Destin, Florida,
Philip (Gwen) of rural Atlanta; three sisters,
Esther (Charlie) Stanford, Mary Jo (Gerald) Brown,
both of Florida, Julia (Ron) Waldrop of Robinson.
Fred has thirty-three grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren and two
great-great-granddaughters.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, two
brothers, Joseph and Murrel Langley, and one sister,
Clara Langley.
Fred will be sadly missed by all his family and
friends. He was a great man.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday,
December 12, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Quiram
Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Military Rites will
be accorded by the Atlanta American Legion Post.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time
of the service. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the family.
