 The numbers were all in favor of the 20th-ranked Runnin' Rebels in their 91-44 victory over Division III La Verne on Thursday night.
UNLV (8-1) led throughout in winning its sixth straight game.
The Rebels outrebounded La Verne 49-23. They had 13 steals and blocked five shots. The Rebels dominated offensively as well, shooting 53 percent (31 of 59) from the field to the Leopards' 31 percent (16 of 51). It carried on behind the 3-point line as UNLV made 7 of 15 while La Verne was 4 of 20.
Vince Bauer had 16 points and Jake Veith added 11 for the Leopards (1-5) in their fifth straight loss.
"We came out and executed our game plan," La Verne coach Rich Reed said. "Our number one goal coming into this game was we wanted to execute the things that we practiced and we did that; but some of our shots just didn't fall for us.
"(UNLV's players) are really big, they're physical, and they shot the ball well. They went to the offensive glass well," Reed said. "We didn't block out very well. Our guys went out and competed but UNLV did their job at the end."
The loss could help the Leopards later in the season.
"We had a lot of freshmen come off the bench for us," Reed said. "They need more playing time to help them grow. This game helps us prepare for late February and early March when our conference tournament starts."

UNLV coach Dave Rice said La Verne was "well-prepared. They were difficult to guard because they're undersized."
Freshman Anthony Bennett scored 27 points to lead UNLV.
Bennett, who went into the game averaging 19.5 points, has led the Runnin' Rebels (8-1) in scoring in eight of their nine games and each of their last seven. The 6-foot-8 forward ranks second in scoring in the Mountain West Conference and 34th nationally, leading all freshmen.
Katin Reinhardt added 14 points, while Savon Goodman chipped in 13 for UNLV, which opened the game on a 15-2 run.
Junior forward Mike Moser, third on the team in scoring (10.9) and tied with Bennett at a team-leading 8.3, sat out the game. He dislocated an elbow early in the Rebels' 76-75 win at California on Sunday.
After opening a 38-21 halftime lead, the Rebels went ahead 47-30 with 14:28 left in the game and then closed the game on a 44-14 run.
La Verne, a private school located in the Los Angeles suburb of the same name, and UNLV are worlds apart as far as caliber of play, but there is a series history between the schools. They played a home-and-home in 1962 and 1964 and last met 47 years ago, in 1965.
