Jennifer Craig caught this amazing shot of the eastern sky at sunrise. This shot captures the serenity of flight and the beauty of an early morning sunrise in Logan County coming together in one magnificent moment.

Is there anything more captivating than a hot air balloon? In Lincoln on the balloon festival weekend, most will say, "No, nothing at all."

If you had your eye to the sky, you may have seen balloons in the air already during that week as local pilots were "practicing" for the weekend launches.

Here pilot Jim Phelan dips his "toe" in the water at Lincoln Lakes.

Deb Rohrer was in another balloon and got this amazing shot with her camera.

It was a circa 1956 Scenicruiser, driven by John (sorry, we didn't get his last name...), who was traveling Route 66 to Amarillo, Texas. The sweet diesel fumes had barely dissipated after he stopped, when a small crowd gathered for photos and a quick look inside his bus. Hundreds and hundreds of classic and antique cars have visited Atlanta over the past few years, but John's Greyhound has to be one of the more unique vehicles to pull up and park.

Railers in the making.
The Lincoln Youth Football program fourth-grade team was on a roll this year. At the time of this photo, they were undefeated at 5-0 and had shut out Chatham by a score of 38-0.

-Nine-year-old Will Stambaugh of Beason participated in the youth shotgun hunt and bagged his first-ever deer, a 10-point buck weighing 210 pounds (hanging weight). The youth shotgun hunt allows young hunters under the age of 16 to hunt, accompanied by an adult. Only the young person may carry a gun and shoot. This was Will's first time hunting. His dad said, "It took Will 16 minutes to get his first 10-point buck, his first deer ever. It took me seven years to get my first 10-pointer." Will was hunting in Christian County, near Mount Auburn. He shot the deer at 75 yards, at 6:45 a.m. on a Saturday. His dad said it was a textbook-perfect shot for the 9-year-old.

Devin Biggs paid a visit to Weldon Springs, where he caught a shot of these Canadian Geese taking a break on a pond at the park. The time of year was fast approaching when we see flocks of ducks and geese take to the skies, heading south for the winter.

Rick and Carol Charron of Charron's Auto Repair attended the Management Success GAP Convention with approximately 120 repair shop owners from across the country. Rick and Carol received the Competent Shop Owner Award. They were honored to receive the award and to be recognized by their peers. "We were pleased to network with other shop owners in this current economy and came away with a fresh new perspective of our industry today," Rick Charron says.
